This Charming man

This Charming man

Like the Smith Song by the vary name. Many decades ago, I used to be one hell of a charming man. I loved to charm the ladies. The way I liked to charm was to find something nice to complement them on. Mainly a nice blouse, or their eyes or something. My charms were sincere and with no motive. There was no intent only to get a laugh or a smile out of that particular lady. I was also  in my twenties one hell of a good looking guy. So I may have been able to have my way with many women. However I always considered the ladies feelings before I engaged in anything that could lead to something serious. I was always a gentleman. Still am. I am very proud of that fact.

Getting older

So fast forward from 25 to 50 years of age. 25 fucking years? Sheesh. What the hell was I thinking? What was I doing? I let myself go. Terminal eating and drinking. I think I was trying to fill a void of something with my constant eating and drinking. Constantly consuming food. The “fun” was over August 4th 2021. I finally pushed my body to its limits. I am now diabetic type 2. Chris finally  “broke” something. What am I going to do now? Will I finally wise up and eat better and exercise and take care of my body? Or will I continue to decay? Lose my eyesight? Lose my sexual functions? Lose my  lower extremities?

Changing this whole thing

So I jokingly say now that I turned 50 that I am in “half time”. 50 is my half time show. Its a morbid joke  right? Life is too in a way. Mortality. We all know we are going to go one day. So once I got the diabetes diagnosis. I  got serious about my health. I started to bust my ass. I busted my ass on the treadmill each morning 25mins. Walk/run sessions. I started by carrying 336lbs around. My joints are fine, and I busted my ass. I stopped all bread intake. In a way I copied the Keto diet. No carbs. I never liked sugar. So no carbs, no sugars no processed meats. Only fruits, vegetables, lean meats. Lots of water. I stopped beer and alcohol too.

I need to bust my ass

I know what I need right now. I need to bust my ass. Do it again and again, every day. In 4 months, I managed to go from diabetic to pre-diabetic. My A1c was not super bad but it was 7. Now my A1c is 6. I shed 55lbs. I took a break from exercise last January 2021. Now its 5/3/2022. Guess what? Its time to bust my ass some more!  I have joined a fitness center near by across the state line. My health insurance pays for most of the cost.  So I will goto the fitness center again and again. I promise to get on the right track.
