Current Events

Summer 2022

So I feel the US is a mess. The political system is screwed up by people getting into the various political seats with the intent of not being a public servant. The people becoming candidates in these powerful positions are either given lots of money to run. Or they have the intent of setting up various corrupt schemes. Finally they may simply be in it for the power and are incompetent for the position they are running for. I was first born in the US of German parents. I have watched the news since I can remember (mid 1970s). Over and over again, and more and more the GOP (Republicans) are getting more corrupt and extreme.

Democratic House

My parents have always been Democrats.  They once said to me “Democrats are for the little people”. “Republicans are for the big people and corporations”. If I was old enough I would have voted for Carter. My dad and mom did not own a gun. I was not even allowed to play with a BB Gun. So I am anti-gun. As far as abortions go, I respect the choice of the woman. It’s her private decision and not mine or anyone else. Esp not the Governments choice.

Religion

I was raised Lutheran. I went to church because my dad believed in it, and still does. He goes every second Sunday for communion. I went with my family in the beginning. I really did not want to go. Later my sister stopped  going and my dad yelled at me enough so I went with him. The men of the household representing the family at church. I went through conformation. The ONLY passage I remember was one that they handed to me at the morning of my confirmation at the church. I was to read it aloud to the congregation. “The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want” . I think thats Psalms. I don’t know the verse number.

Currently my views

I think any organized religion should be out of the political apparatus. Any candidate running  on only Christian “values” and 2nd Amendment should not be voted for. I vote for the Democrats. I feel between Republicans and Democrats, Democratic members conduct themselves personally with more ethical standards. They also do their jobs and work on passing bills that are good for everyone. The Republicans are lost. They are totally lost with no ethics, standards or even compassion.

Current Republicans

I feel there is White Nationalism in current day Republicans. They wear the cross on their sleaves and push it in the noses of the masses. Meanwhile stealing, cheating, lying, an conning anyone outside of their group. They push military weapons for civilians. They strip rights from women recently. They force their “religious” beliefs on everyone when banning abortion which part of women’s health care choices. The Republicans allow the slaughter of children in schools and people in churches. The Republicans are an extremist organization and the Democrats must fight them every election. Every citizen should fight them. They are the cancer to Democracy. They must  be removed from the political system!
