Self care is free

I gave up on everything

For over a decade or so I tried to do something with my photo skills. Maybe  I did not do enough leg work or face to face networking. I failed repeatedly in doing anything that could generate money with my photography skills. At the same time since I had been not employed I gave up on dating. I thought to myself, “What kind of practical woman would want to date a guy who was not employed and had no money”? I gave up on myself, my photography, my skills and my health.

Over indulging

So I ate, and drank. I ballooned up to a maximum capacity of 336lbs. As of August 4th, 2021 I was 336lbs. I had been going to the doctor regularly. My last blood work came in and my doctor told me I was diabetic. My A1C was 7. An A1C of 7 I  was told was the “golden” number. It was a high A1C level, but not the worst. An A1C of 7 is right at the beginning of diabetes.

Medical diagnosis

Its now October 30th 2021. As soon as I was told by my doctor that I was diabetic, I got scared and I was upset that I caused this adverse health situation for myself. I was upset that I did not have any thought to what I was putting into my body. I was scared too. Scared enough to get on the treadmill for 25 minutes each morning through out August and September of 2021. I also strictly stopped eating all bread and pasta. I never was a person to eat a lot of sugar. My diet since August 2021 has been lean meats, vegetables, fruit, and water. I stopped drinking beer and alcohol.

Two and a half months

In two and a half months I went from 336lbs to 304lbs. Its October now, and my body is stuck at 304lbs. I’ve starved and exercised but my body refuses to go below 300lbs. For the  past week or two, my lower back started to hurt. I have not been on the treadmill for a few weeks because of this. At first I thought my lower back pain was  somehow kidney-related. Now I think its just a lower back strain. Maybe I slept wrong on my back.

Probably Keto diet

I still am staying on my no bread or carbs diet. I try not to over eat during the day. I do cheat a little every so often. Also since my first blood work results of A1C 7, I managed to lower my A1C to 6. My doctor says I am now considered pre-diabetic. I still have .3 to go to get back into a normal A1C  range. I still have more work to do on the treadmill . My diet has to stay the same as long as I live. I think the diet I am on can be considered the Keto diet.

Health maintenance is free

Even though I was not a successful person, taking care of your health is free. Just exercise regularly and don’t eat a lot. Also watch what you eat. I don’t spend too much money on food. I never eat fast food anymore. Maintaining your health is free.
